Do iguana’s eat less when they’re going to shed they’re skin?

Is it just my iguana?
I have noticed that when ever my Iguna is going to shed (usualy takes 3-4 days to completely shed, its indoors-free roaming)

During thast 3-4 days it eats less, and it looks like it starving, empty belly nd just sits there doing nothing..

But i have looked at it and taugh….maybe its eating less so the shed can fall off much easier/faster!?

But then again I DONT KNOW, Where I live there is no Reptile doctor, not even a vet (well there is a vet but only for dogs and cats)

So I was just thinking, it eats less so the shed can shed off musch fster off its skin…

That’s normal behavior, all squamates (lizards and snakes) get less active before shedding their skin. The process is regulated by their nervous system and especially by their hormones, and their metabolic changes at those periods are linked with their loss of appetite.
